Conner Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the creation of *gogo art projects, an independent venture devoted to incubating emerging and experimental art.
The *gogo art projects concept evolved from Conner Contemporary Art's annual Academy exhibition of recent BFA/MFA graduates from the Washington/Baltimore area. The experience of promoting new talent inspired the creation of a more structured project that assists the movement of promising artists to the next level of the art market.
*gogo art projects will present artists with challenges and opportunities by providing various venues to exhibit and interact with other artists at different levels of experience.
*gogo's province will include national art fairs, national/international group exhibitions, online projects and off-site events.
An integral part of *gogo art project's mission will be the implementation of a liberal review policy for portfolios to stimulate interaction between artists, staff and visiting advisors. A review policy guide is available online. Through this dynamic we will maintain a select, evolving roster of artists. On an individual basis we will encourage artists to shape promising ideas into viable projects and cohesive bodies of work.
